What is in-vitro fertilization treatment?

As a medical treatment, this method has certain techniques. Necessarily the egg cell of the mother and the sperm cell of the father are the essential parts. The germ cells received are allowed to wait together for fertilization. Otherwise, the sperm is injected into the egg cell and the fertilization is implemented. The proper steps are taken for the received embryos to be left into, and to hold onto, the uterus of the expectant mother under the appropriate conditions and at the proper time. While the in-vitro fertilization treatment can be roughly explained in this way, there are many sub-elements of this treatment. With its phases including accessing the sperm cell, the maturity and collection of the egg cell, and fertilization, it is a different medical world itself.

The sperm cell taken from the expectant father and the egg cell collected from the mother is injected into the uterus by entering through the cervix with the help of a special catheter after the fertilization is enabled. For approximately 50%, a chance of conception will emerge after this procedure. However, not all of these pregnancies will progress in their normal course, and there are also such risks as abortion, preterm labor, extrauterine pregnancy.

What is the success rate in the IVF treatments?

The partners should be informed about the issues that may affect the success because many criteria such as the age and socioeconomic facilities of the partners, the equipment at the center, the experience of the team members, and other disorders of the body will be effective. To this end, it is required to turn the side conditions into a positive aspect and to eliminate the negative sides. The individuals should be informed about the conditions under their own initiative through a good research. One should make a good choice of the institution and take into consideration what the physician would say. Then, one should trust the experienced physicians and be patient. The rest is up to those conditions that people cannot avoid.

The partners who want to have a baby should meet with the gynecologists for infertility treatment without waiting for long. There will be a negative success rate increasing with the age later on. Therefore, the age is one of the mostly discussed issues in the IVF treatment.
