1-When can the female start having sexual intercourse after a C-section birth?

During the lochia period after giving a C-section birth, the most appropriate time that the female should wait before starting a sexual relationship again is around 1 to 1,5 months. This period is also the lochia period where the female’s body will complete its recovery and obtain its old form once again. The female will not experience bleeding and vaginal discharge that she has been after birth, at the end of the period. The female will use this period to prepare herself both mentally and physically to get used to the process of taking care of the baby after birth. However, in some cases couples do not have to wait for 1,5 months to have sexual intercourse. Some couples feel that they are ready to start their sexual relationship in a much shorter time. In others, this period may take up to 2 months. However, the most ideal waiting time to have sexual intercourse after birth is 1 to 1.5 months. There is no obstacle for couples who wish to have sexual intercourse before this period is over. This will not affect or harm the female’s stitches or the surgical area.

2- After C-section delivery will there be a decrease or a difference in the female’s sexual desire?

During the first month after C-section birth, due to situations such as pain after surgery, exhaustion, and taking care of the baby, there may be a decrease in the female’s sexual desire. This situation is extremely normal and cannot be seen as a sexual disorder. Everything will go back to normal once the female has recovered completely. At the same time, bleeding and vaginal discharge that the female will experience during the first month after C-section can also be a factor which will decrease the desire to have sexual intercourse. This also can affect the pleasure of the couple negatively.
